Polishing acrylic glass with a robot. Automatic pressure correction, high-quality finish!
With high-speed automatic correction of contact force, industrial robots are endowed with human-like senses (tactile perception), automating polishing and grinding processes with the best quality! Dramatically improving management challenges and productivity.
FerRobotics Compliant Robot Technology GmbH has developed the UR+ model ACF-K using its proprietary ACT technology. It allows for easy setup on the teaching pendant for Universal Robots UR10, UR10e, and UR16e. The end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology automatically compensates for changes in dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces by rapidly adjusting the stroke extension and contraction, ensuring constant contact with the workpiece at the set force. This technology increases the speed at which devices and robots can operate, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robot polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the pressing force through the stroke extension and contraction, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for adjustments, which further assists in improving processing speed. Furthermore, it automatically compensates for tool load variations due to gravity changes at different robot angles, maintaining a consistent pressing force from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
